It's time to say a little prayer to the gods because our dreams are finally coming true.

Percy Jackson creator and writer Rick Riordan announced that beloved book series will be coming back to life in a new TV series for Disney+.

"After a lot of hard work and a lot of support from you guys, Percy Jackson is coming to Disney+. More later," he said in a video.

Shortly after, Rick posted a statement writing:

"Hey, Percy Jackson fans. For the past decade, you've worked hard to champion a faithful on-screen adaptation of Percy Jackson's world. Some of you have even suggested it would be a great series for Disney+. We couldn't agree more! We can't say much more at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one. Rest assured that Becky [his wife] and I will be involved in-person in every aspect of the show. There will be much more news in the future, but for now, we have a lot of work to do! Buckle up, demigods! It's going to be a fantastic, exciting ride!"

Fans have been campaigning for a TV series based on the books ever since the Percy Jackson films were put on hold after the second movie was released. The movie series, which starred Logan Lerman, caused fan backlash over changes that occurred when bringing the book to life on the big screen.

There's no word on when production will start on the series or who will be playing any of the characters.

So get your Camp Half-Blood t-shirt ready, because it looks like we'll finally be heading back pretty soon! Until then, relive the series all over again with the books:
