'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Debuts With 13.3 Million Viewers

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is shaping up to be one of the more popular series on Disney+ and Hulu. For its first episode, the series brought in 13.3 million viewers in the first six days of landing on the platforms.

The tale of Percy Jackson has now landed in the top five most-watched season premieres in all of 2023 on both streaming services. The list of the top five are unknown, however, this year, Disney+ has debuted various big releases like season three of The Mandalorian, season two of Loki, and season 3 of Only Murders in the Building, just to name a few. For comparison Percy Jackson's 13.3 million viewership number is quite impressive since Disney+'s Ahsoka hit only slightly higher at 14 million viewers in its first five days of viewing and the second season of Loki hit 10.9 million in the first three days.

Percy Jackson is the first project that Disney hopes to launch into a major screen franchise. The show has achieved the most-watched premiere of all time for a Disney Branded Television. The series is created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg. Steinberg and Dan Shotz executive produce the show alongside Riordan and his wife Rebecca Riordan, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson and the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg.
