Pepsi Is Covering $100k in Free Meals at Select Restaurants—How to Get Yours

In celebration of National Black Business Month this August, Pepsi wants you to grab a meal—and they'll pick up the tab!

The brand is marking the occasion in a major way with Pepsi Dig In Day, an "annual calling to encourage foodies to visit and dine at Black-owned restaurants across the country."

With Pepsi Dig In—the brand’s platform designed to drive access, business growth, and awareness to Black-owned restaurants—the day of festivities takes places this year on Saturday, August 19, where the company will be covering $100,000 in free meals for consumers when they visit select restaurants across the country in cities like Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia and more.

Fans can take part (or, rather, partake...) by visiting EatOkra—the largest database of Black-owned restaurants—to find participating locations and other establishments in their area.

For even more fun, curious tastebuds local to the Washington, DC, area can make their way to a celebratory block party, complete with a musical performance by Virginia-native rapper Pusha T and, of course, plenty of free eats.

“Our goal for Pepsi Dig In has always been to celebrate and generate awareness for Black-owned restaurants, not just on Pepsi Dig In Day, but all year long,” said Scott Finlow, Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Global Foodservice. “This year, we’re turning up the flavor and excitement with the support of renowned partners like the James Beard Foundation and events like our Washington D.C. block party where people can indulge in delicious food, cheer on talented chefs, and soak up the vibrant culture that accompanies every dish.”

Additionally, Pepsi Dig In is encouraging foodies to spread the love across social media for a chance to win $5,000 for not only themselves, but an extra $5,000 donation to the restaurant. People can post their meals on Instagram or Twitter, tagging their favorite local Black-owned eatery as well as @PepsiDigIn, along with hashtags #DigInShowLove #Sweepstakes from August 1 through August 31.
