People Were Not Happy With Katie Couric and Mike Tirico During the Opening Ceremony
Mike Tirico and Katie Couric were cohosts during NBC's broadcast of the Winter Olympics opening ceremony, which aired in the U.S. on Friday night. The ceremony kicked off the 2018 games, which are being held in PyeongChang, South Korea this year, and it was Couric's big return to NBC.

The ceremony was filled with spectacle, symbolism, and national pride. But some viewers didn't take too kindly to the commentary on the NBC broadcast, and took to social media to vent that they felt it distracted from the technical beauty of the event. Others felt their commentary focused too much on the threat from North Korea while not paying attention to South Korea's merits as host.
Going to say it, the excessive commentary from these narrators is dreadful and is ruining the entire #OpeningCeremony.
