If you've looked at a TV screen or scrolled through Instagram at any point in the last few months, chances are you've run across Travis Kelce's face. The NFL player has been a star in his own right for about a decade, but recently, he's been under a massive spotlight thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Travis made his NFL debut in 2013, and has been playing tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs for his whole career so far. He's an eight-time Pro Bowler, a four-time first-team All Pro selection, and a two-time Super Bowl champ, according to The Sun. It's no secret that NFL players make a serious amount of money, so it's safe to assume he receives a pretty good paycheck.

While he crushes it on the field, recent rumors about a grand birthday gesture for his lady have fans wondering just how much this star makes in a year.

Taylor's net worth is a whopping $1.1 billion, but how much cash does "the guy on the Chiefs" bring home? Here's everything to know about how Travis makes his money, from his NFL career, his product endorsements, and his ad with Pfizer.

The internet believed Travis gifted Taylor an opal ring for her birthday reportedly costing $175k.

On December 15, Taylor posted a series of pictures from her star-studded 34th birthday celebration on Instagram. Swifties instantly noticed the massive opal ring (estimated at 15 carats) surrounded by a halo of blue gemstones on her middle finger, which was estimated to cost a hefty ~$175,000, per Page Six.

Since Travis is her new beau, and seems to know a thing or two about style (have you seen his pre-game fits?), fans of the couple put their detective hats on and spilled their theories on TikTok.

One viral TikTok video takes a deep dive into the stones of the ring, and speculated that the center opal is Travis's birthstone while the blue topaz is Taylor's birthstone. Apparently Travis also follows a jeweler who posted a similar ring to T-Swift's a few years back.

Then, of course, there's the fact that Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh Sperry, “liked” a TikTok video breaking down the theory, per Page Six.

However, in a twist of events, Keleigh revealed that *she* was the one who actually bought the ring in a pic shared to her Instagram story on Dec. 21:

Keleigh also posted this video of Taylor admiring the opal and blue topaz ring on her Instagram story. "This is unreal, Keleigh," Taylor says. "This is, like, a present for Elizabeth Taylor, not me."

Okay, so Travis may not have bought Taylor this particular $175,000 ring, but judging from his NFL income and his many, many endorsement deals (more on that below), he certainly could have.

How much does Travis make in the NFL?

At the start of Travis's rookie year in 2013, he signed a four-year, $3.12 million contract, which also included a signing bonus of $703,304, per The Sun. In 2016, he penned a five-year contract $46 million extension with the team, which included $22 million guaranteed and ~$14 million annual salary. In 2020, he extended his contract once again in Kansas City until 2026, which guarantees a $57 million annual salary, The Sun reported.

While these numbers are pretty mind-blowing, Travis told Vanity Fair in June that he's considered "underpaid" compared to other NFL stars. "My managers and agents love to tell me how underpaid I am," he said.

Travis explained that he enjoys his job, but shared, "You see how much more money you could be making and, yeah, it hits you in the gut a little bit. It makes you think you're being taken advantage of."

He makes money from endorsement deals.

Travis makes $5 million per year from his endorsements, according to Celebrity New Worth. The companies he's worked with include:

  • McDonalds

  • Nike

  • Papa John's

  • Bud Light

  • State Farm

  • Sleep Number

  • Tide

  • Dick's Sporting Goods

  • T-Moblie

  • Experian

  • Old Spice

  • Walgreens

  • DirectTV

  • Pfizer

He's also appeared in a Campbell Soup ad in August with his brother Jason Kelce and their mom, Donna Kelce.

He made a lot from his ad spot with Pfizer.

In September 2023, Travis become the spokesperson for Pfizer in hopes to successfully promote the company's COVID vaccine educational campagin.

He announced his partnership with Pfizer on Instagram that urged people to get their COVID-19 booster as well as a flu shot. In the ad, a pharmacist asks Travis if he knows he can get this season's COVID-19 and flu shot at the same time. The ad proceeds to show Travis performing two tasks at the same time before getting his flu shot and COVID-19 booster. Mama Kelce even makes a quick appearance!

"#PfizerPartner Everyone knows how much I value family, enjoying life, and my health. Did you know the CDC says that you can get this season’s COVID-19 shot when you get your flu shot? Ask your doctor or pharmacist about if it would be right for you. You can also visit VaxAssist.com to learn more and schedule an appointment," his caption read.

Trav's ad (part of a paid partnership with Pfizer) pops up throughout various social media platforms, and has aired during several NFL games.

Pfizer posted the ad on their Instagram, too.

Apparently, this spot with Pfizer allegedly made Travis a whopping $20 million, but that number hasn't been confirmed, per Celebrity Net Worth.

He also owns some big real estate investments.

In October of 2023, shortly after going public with Taylor Swift, Travis added some fancy real estate to his portfolio, purchasing a $6 million, 17,000-square-foot mansion in Kansas City, according to TMZ. The outlet also reported that this home is larger than his previous home, and offers more privacy.

The NFL player also owns a pretty nice Kansas City high-rise called One Light Luxury, per The New York Post. It stands 35 stories tall right in the center of downtown Kansas City.

In addition to his Kansas City investments, Travis owns a condo in Orlando spanning 1,434-square-feet, according to The Post. He purchased it for $355,000 in 2019, and shares it with his parents and his brother.

What is Travis' total net worth in 2023?

After all of that, Travis is worth a sum total of $40 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. That's a nice little nest egg, and it's definitely possible that he could drop a hefty sum of that on a nice present for Tay.

What is Taylor and Travis’ joint net worth?

Both Taylor and Travis have been hugely successful in their own fields, so they're definitely a #PowerCouple when it comes to clout and bank accounts. Travis is worth about $40 million, while Taylor is worth an estimated $1.1 billion, according to Forbes. Combined, this couple is worth an impressive $1.14 billion. Phew!! That's a lot of cash in the bank.
