Taco Bell, you have proven that you’re really listening to our innermost needs once again. The Mexican fast food chain is currently going full cheese fanatic, and according to this bombshell announcement we saw on @candyhunting’s Instagram feed, the next manifestation will be chips made out of Taco Bell’s cheddar cheese. We feel like we should repeat that one more time for the people in the back: chips made out of cheese. Be still, our hearts.

The chain is riding on a cheese high right into these chips, called Cheddar Crisps, which will allegedly be part of Taco Bell’s snacks available in stores like 7-Eleven and Target, though it's unclear where these will be available. Delish reached out to Taco Bell for more info and will update this post if they get back to us. Currently, there are varieties like the super spicy Reaper Ranch Tortilla Chips, the Mild Tortilla Chips, the Fire Tortilla Chips (as in Taco Bell’s signature Fire hot sauce), and Classic Tortilla Chips. Cheddar Crisps will likely join the lineup as the first item to be made from cheese, so they will instantly earn their place as our favorite.

Most recently, Taco Bell rolled out the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa, in which they bake cheddar right onto the outside of the chalupa shell. That means in addition to the cheese in your chalupa, you get that crispy, toasty cheese finish. “We know cheese makes everything better,” Taco Bell Corp’s Chief Food Innovation Officer Liz Matthews said in reference to the cheddar-y chalupa shell idea. Have truer words ever been spoken?

Based on the package in @candyhunting’s ‘gram, the Cheddar Crisps will come in a spicy Fire sauce flavor. @Candyhunting explains in the caption that there will also be Mild and Nacho versions, and that Taco Bell Cheddar Crisps will hit shelves “soon.”
