WARNING: This story contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2.

The Game of Thrones reunions didn't stop with the Season 8 premiere; this week's episode also gave us long-awaited moments between Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth and Jon and Ghost, his direwolf. However, an especially emotional exchange took place between Theon Greyjoy and Sansa Stark when he arrives to Winterfell to join the fight against the White Walkers. After he presents himself to Daenerys, Sansa rushes to give him a hug, her eyes welling up with tears.

Later on in the episode, the pair also exchanged endearing looks while sharing a meal before the big battle at Winterfell.

Some viewers wondered: Are these two in love? Sansa and Theon do have history. They grew up together at Winterfell because her father, Ned Stark, took Theon as a ward (or hostage) after his father led a failed rebellion against the Iron Throne. But there are some gray areas. Theon tried to prove himself to his father by laying siege to Winterfell and pretending to burn Bran and Rickon Stark alive. Then Theon's victory is cut short when Ramsay Bolton takes over the Stark's home, takes him as prisoner, and severely tortures (and castrates) him.

The last time Sansa and Theon were together was in the beginning of Season 6, after he helps her escape from Ramsey in Winterfell. Ultimately, they're saved by Brienne and Pod, and the latter duo bring Sansa up to Castle Black to reunite with Jon while Theon returns home to the Iron Islands and his sister Yara.

After they appeared onscreen together again in this week's GoT, fans thought they saw sparks flying. The show may be approaching its final episodes, but is there room to squeeze one more romance before the it's all over?

We'll see if this reunion leads to anything more than an alliance when Game of Thrones returns next Sunday on HBO at 9 P.M. ET.
