People Are Sharing The Spiciest Gossip From Their Workplaces, And These People Have Some Truly Wild Coworkers

Recently, we asked the BuzzFeed Community for their wildest workplace gossip — here's what they had to say!*

Along with a few stories from these two Reddit threads!

1."45 (M) year old coworker got caught having an affair with another coworker who is 18 (F). To top it all off, they worked in the back of the building alone together while his pregnant wife was the receptionist up front. ... To add insult to injury, the 18-year-old girl had just recently attended the wife’s baby shower."

2."Two coworkers in different cities would meet up in a third city for their affair and charge everything (travel, hotel, food, entertainment) to the company as client expenses. The accounting department finally caught them after realizing that all the clients/companies were made up names. Firing day, they were escorted out and security had to clean out their desks later, but they also weren't reported for fraud or embezzlement or anything. Seemed like their spouses never found out, and when I ran into the woman a few months later, she was visibly pregnant. Bit my tongue to keep from asking the obvious question..."

3."There's a guy who was sleeping with a coworker's daughter. Daughter's fiancé comes home, finds them naked on the couch. Fiancé starts to fight Guy. Daughter runs to bedroom naked and comes back to living room with a gun. Slides it towards the tussle between fiancé and Guy. Naked Guy gets gun, shoots fiancé in stomach. Naked Guy and Coworker still work here (tons of people work here though, so they don't have to interact much). Naked Guy took a couple weeks off work. The wedding is off."

4."I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to out myself, but I’m pretty sure a girl I work with murdered our coworker."

"They weren’t dating; he was just fucking her and she thought it was a relationship. We knew he was going to end it and the weekend he was going to end it he ends up passing from his condition that would be easy to induce."

5."My 40 year old uncle hooking up with my 18 yr old “best friend” behind our backs (they both worked at my dad’s restaurant — the rule is no workplace romances). [It] didn’t end well. They are now engaged, so she will be my aunt, LOL."

6."This really high up VP at our company just.....disappeared. He didn’t quit, he wasn’t fired, but it’s been 4 months and no one has seen or heard from him. He just vanished into thin air, dropped completely off of social media, no one knows if he’s dead or alive. The kicker is HR found out he’d been charging personal trips to his company card and he owes the company $28k+. So they’ve launched an investigation and are trying to find him. We’re all following with bated breath."

7."The bosses were a couple but it turned out they were both still married to their ex partners. His ex/still-legal-wife was the IDENTICAL TWIN of his current partner (meaning his kids and her kids were basically cousins and step siblings) and her ex/still-legal-husband was an employee of the business and lived with them! Got even better when the couple decided to set the twin sister up with his brother by staging a date at their business."

8."In high school I used to work as a hostess at Outback Steakhouse. There was a waitress (we’ll call her Emma). She was always super quiet ... [and] seemed fairly normal. Well, as a hostess it’s your responsibility to answer all the phone calls that come in, and there would almost always, once a week at least, be someone calling into ask to speak to Emma. I remember super clearly one time some girl called, sounding wildly out of breath on the phone, panicking as if she was on the verge of crying, and asked me 'is Emma there?' and I said, as I would always say, 'she’s currently working can you tell me your name so I can let you know?' And she just hung up on me."

"Anywho, we would always get these weird, suspicious phone calls from random people for Emma. The other hostesses and I would always be kinda freaked out by them and always kinda thought she had some weird past that no one knew  about. Eventually, Emma got fired for stealing money from the back and taking other employees tips. Turns out she was running a secret drug ring, lol. I found out from one of the other hostesses."

9."I had a ride share work friend — we sat opposite each other. In the car to work she told me she had a thing for our boss. That Friday, they went together in his car to get 'office cake.' She came back, pulled me aside and said something went down in the car! Kept my cool and around a hour before end of day, I emailed her saying, 'seeing as you (profanity) off the boss fancy getting us out early?!' All banter, but I sent it to HIM [my boss]. ... The actual DREAD of knowing I couldn’t take it back..."

10."A couple of years ago, my manager got asked to resign, along with another employee. Few people knew why. Turns out the manager, that employee, and another employee who had recently quit had gone into the store after hours and had a threesome. It was the most convenient option being that they all had significant others at home."

11."Not recent but a now former coworker was fired for sleeping with a client. HUGE no in our field (psychotherapy). It was never proven but strongly suspected that the encounters took place in our office so extra gross."

12."My manager isn’t everyone’s favorite. She tends to overly stress out and choose favorites among her employees ... Well of course she made someone angry so as a petty person, they became nosey and researched her name online. They found out that she ran a daycare center where she abused children, and she faced six felony counts of injury to a child."

"Immediately they teamed up and told a supervisor, from there went straight to the GM. ... My department got called in the room and they told us she wasn’t with the company anymore and the other managers from other locations would come fill in for our busy week. We never saw her again.""

13."I work for a very big aeronautics company with its share of gossip and scandals. One lady was such a good gossiper, she actually wrote an ENTIRE BOOK using different names (but it was very obvious who each person was) to tell about affairs, scandals, etc. And then she published it as she left for retirement!"

"One big scandal had been about a bitter director I worked for. I found out that he had been left at the altar by his fiancé...who is an HR director now married to another director in the company! I'm a bit more patient and compassionate with bitter director now."

14."I manage a department at a corporation. After a recent company convention, I found out that MULTIPLE fellow managers slept with entry-level employees (some married, some not, some with partners, etc.). One started dating someone on his team, formally, and a senior exec took a group to a strip club and paid for lap dances. Several of the younger, entry level employees have been promoted. I’m so grossed out by all of it that I’m plotting my exit, in spite of the fact that I actually like my job and have been here for many years."

15."After I'd left a job at an office, my bestie who still worked there told me the company somehow found out the lady who was head of finance had been using the company credit card to buy herself gifts and shopping sprees worth of £60,000. She'd be doing it for years."

"They gave her the option to leave quietly or be arrested. Of course she left and I don't think they were even able to recover the money from her. Can't believe she basically got off scot-free!"

puss_pastry

16."My education manager was sleeping with the married Head of EVS (Environmental Services) at the hospital on my unit. ... He and his wife had a newborn (3-month-old) and he’d been having the affair for months. Wife gets all the receipts, contacts our education manager (the one sleeping with her husband), and gives her a warning. A week later the wife learns they’re still seeing each other and pulls up to the education manager's house, gives receipts of the affair to the education manager's husband, then comes to the hospital and defaces the education manager's work area in bright red lipstick like the freaking Scarlet Letter."

18."We worked at a franchise where our Manager (Mr.X) was 50 and secretly dating his 27 year old assistant (Ms. A). Ms. A’s dad worked at the firm."

"The franchise license was revoked from Mr.X because he went bankrupt! , So another man (Mr.Y) took over the territory. Mr. Y was married, and had an affair with the assistant, Ms. A, while she was still dating Mr.x."
