"There Was Something Magical About It": People Are Sharing Their Favorite Trend From 20 Years Ago, And I Didn't Know It Was Possible To Feel This Nostalgic

Some may say that the 2000s were a simpler time. It was the era of MTV's TRL, Blockbuster, and low-rise jeans. While some trends are meant to stay in the 2000s, others are missed, at least according to Reddit.

Redditor u/TEVideo asked, "What's an early 2000s trend that you wish would make a comeback?" and I'm not going to lie: Many of the responses in this thread had me in my feels as a millennial. Here are some of them.

Note: Some responses have been edited for length and/or clarity.

1."Blockbuster and other film rental places. There was something magical about going in and running around the aisles with your friends or just cruising on your own, picking up anticipated titles and also something that just caught your eye."

3."The internet of the late '90s and early 2000s was the best. Napster, newsgroups, flash games, forums, no social media or data-harvesting bullshit. Just awesome."

7."I miss my Nickelodeon alarm clock. Why wake up to an ear-piercing electronic chime when you could start your day with the sound of a cartoon spring and slam a giant red button?"

8."Flip phones. A few friends and I agree that if it weren’t for a few key features on smartphones, we’d love to go back to them. If a flip phone had a good GPS and access to Spotify, I’d be down."
