As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the country, numerous workers have been asked to perform their jobs from home. While some folks work from home on the regular and have a proper home office setup, others are quite lost without their sacred cubicle. In fact, I'm writing this on my bed, extremely uncomfortable, as I lack an actual desk. It turns out, I'm not the only one scouring around the home looking for any and every type of hard surface to lay my laptop on, though.
Twitter user @julesforrest posted a picture from her studio apartment, where she and her partner were both working from home. In the front entryway lies a makeshift clothing hamper desk that faces a chair that looks to be from a dining room table set. She explained that this was her current workplace setup and asked the Twitterverse to chime in with their own WFH "unglamorous edition" photos. Let's just say that if you thought you were the only "professional" with an untraditional office setup, you are very wrong. Here are some of the ingenious, and hilariously clever ways that Twitter users fashioned workspaces for themselves. Now, if you'd excuse me, I have to try to create a desk using my microwave. (But seriously, if you're looking for advice on setting up a great home office, read the advice these designers who WFH had to share!).
