After rumors swirled about Meghan Markle concealing her pregnancy with a new hairstyle and an overcoat at Princess Eugenie's October 12 wedding, early on Monday morning, Kensington Palace confirmed she and Prince Harry are indeed expecting a child: The mother-to-be is 12 weeks along.

Most of the world-including the Queen!- was elated by the newlyweds' news, but some pointed out that their timing was a little inconsiderate. Today, October 15, is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, which recognizes pregnancy loss and infant death due to causes like SIDS, miscarriage, and stillbirth. In the U.S., the month is designated as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

While no one can control when they get pregnant or begin to show, it's worth noting that the royal family waited until after Princess Eugenie's wedding to make this announcement, but didn't appear to have considered the context otherwise.
