People Over 30, Tell Us Something You Actually Like About Getting Older

Back when I was in high school, older people were always telling me, "These are the best years of your life." But TBH, that time really sucked for me. And though my 20s were better, I still hadn't really figured myself out yet. In fact, I have to say that my 30s has actually been my best decade so far — even though it started with a complete existential crisis about getting "old."

I'm so tired of people acting like exiting your 20s universally means enjoying life less and doing less cool stuff. So if you're over 30, I want to hear from you about what you actually enjoy about getting older.

Maybe you love getting older because you've finally gained the confidence to stand up for yourself. In your younger years, you put up with a lot of crap from partners, friends, bosses, and family that would simply not fly with you today. And in the process, you've discovered that setting boundaries boosts your confidence even more.

Or perhaps as you've gotten older you've learned a lot about mental health, and this knowledge has absolutely transformed your life. Working on coping skills, going to therapy, and taking medication has opened up the world for you in ways that wouldn't have seemed possible when you were younger.

Or maybe in your 20s, you often overworked to prove yourself in your career, both because you were new and because you felt insecure. But in your 30s and beyond, you've grown professionally and struck a better balance between life and work. And as a result, you're enjoying your life a whole lot more.
