It's not surprising to hear that people get scammed every day, but there are some misconceptions around scamming, hacking, and identity theft.

A lot of people think that only older people fall for these kinds of scams, though that isn't the case.

The FTC reported that, "In 2021, Gen X'ers, millennials, and Gen Z young adults were 34% more likely than older adults (ages 60 and over) to report losing money to fraud." However, the age groups commonly tackle different kinds of fraud.

While younger folks are dealing with online shopping fraud, investment fraud, and romance scams, older adults are struggling with tech support scams, prize and sweepstakes-related scams, and family and friend imposter scams.
