People encouraged to explore Jersey National Park

People in Jersey are being encouraged to explore the national park as part of the walking campaign, Walk in the Park.

Jersey National Park will have 18 guided walks on offer throughout May to celebrate National Walking Month.

The walks are available to families, friends and individuals and need to be booked.

Honorary chair of the Jersey National Park, Jim Hopley MBE, said it was an invitation to "deeply connect with the landscapes" of the park.

"Our aim is to encourage everyone, locals and visitors of all ages and abilities, to discover its diverse beauty as well as the many features it has to offer," he said.

Dr Patricia Tumelty, CEO of Mind Jersey, said the restorative power of nature could significantly contribute to reducing stress and improving mental health.

She said: "This year, Walk in the Park brings to life the stories of Jersey National Park, offering engaging walks that are not just physically stimulating but also mentally enriching.

"It's an adventure into learning and leisure, wrapped in the scenic quality of our park."

Tickets for the walks from Saturday 20 April are £5 for adults, with under-18s free.
