People Are Convinced Ariana Grande Came Out as Bisexual in New Song ‘Monopoly’
Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét released their collaboration "Monopoly" this afternoon after first teasing it last week. Fans speculated that the April Fool's release date meant the song was a joke, but Grande said that "Monopoly" was anything but fake. The song is meant to be a thank you gift to fans, since "7 Rings" has been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks now. "Why the whole fuck would this be an april fools joke there’s so much to celebrate and to say thank u for !" Grande wrote on Twitter earlier this afternoon. "Seriously ! We mean it. You’re getting a song today. Period. Love u."
Ahead of the song's release, tentative lyrics came out, including a verse that some fans interpreted as Monét and Grande both saying that they identify as bisexual. Fans went crazy over it, some seeing it as Grande's way of coming out. Others noted that Grande sang a separate part of the post-chorus, meaning that the verse ("I like women and men") might only apply to Monét. (Grande does sing the verse herself during the second post-chorus.)
Monét has opened up about her sexuality before, writing in November that "I want everyone to know that I’m single (since people wanna pretend I’m not) and make imaginary rules for me. I secretly and respectfully went through a difficult break up this summer but enough is enough. I also like girls. Thank U, Next. Bye."

wait... did Ariana Grande just come out as bisexual?
if she did then this gave me more of a reason to love her ❤️ pic.twitter.com/KLzfain3Le- Jason Bolaños (@JBinAV) April 1, 2019
Although none of that confirms whether she’s actually bisexual or not, that line is on the pre-chorus, which one is sung separably by Victoria Monét (at 00:34-6) and then another also separably by Ariana Grande (at 01:14-6). #Monopoly https://t.co/uGn01QDsmT

Grande hasn't commented on the claims yet but likely will when the song has been out longer. This post will be updated with her response.
Grande and Monét also released a music video for the song, which was a big celebration of wealth, career success, and friendship:
Here, the lyrics for the song, via Genius:
Intro: Ariana Grande
Yeah
Verse 1: Victoria Monét
I've been on the road, where you been?
Real protective with my soul, where you been?
Is your GPS even on, where you been?
Matter of fact, I don't even care where you been
Chorus: Victoria Monét
Bad vibes, get off of me
Outta here with that fuckery
Treat my goals like property
Collect them like Monopoly
I probably
Won't come if there's not a fee
And if they try come stoppin' me
I swerve both ways, dichotomy
Post-Chorus: Victoria Monét & Ariana Grande
I like women and men (Yeah)
Work so fuckin' much, need a twinny, twin, twin
How you hit the club when you barely got in?
Then we hit the bank, making them investments for the win, oh
Verse 2: Ariana Grande
Said, I been on the road, where you been? (Where you been?)
Real protective with my soul, where you been? (Where you been?)
Is your GPS even on, where you been? (Where you been?)
Matter of fact, I don't even care where you been
Chorus: Ariana Grande
Bad vibes, get off of me
Outta here with that fuckery
Treat my goals like property
Collect them like Monopoly
I probably
Won't come if there's not a fee
And if they try come stoppin' me
I show them my discography (Yeah, yeah)
Post-Chorus: Ariana Grande
I like women and men (Yeah)
Work so fuckin' much, need a twinny, twin, twin (Yeah)
You'd be straight for life if I gave you my PIN (Yeah)
Even though we gave up that 90 percent for the win, go
Grande is singing about how for "7 Rings," she and Monét gave up 90 percent of song writing royalties to Concord, which owns Rodgers and Hammerstein's song catalog, since they heavily sampled The Sound of Music's "My Favorite Things" in the song. The success of "7 Rings" on the charts is part of the reason the two released this song.
Verse 3: Victoria Monét & Ariana Grande
I've been on the road, where you been? (Where you been?)
Real protective with my soul, where you been? (Where you been?)
Is your GPS even on, where you been? (Where you been?)
Matter of fact, I don't even care where you been
Bridge: Ariana Grande
Yeah, hell no
I don't even care where you been (Oh, yeah)
Hell no (Oh, yeah)
Said I don't even care
Verse 4: Victoria Monét, Ariana Grande
Remember when we made a fuckin' album off that Clicquot? (Ooh)
I never dry my vocals, all shout out to Eric Vetro (I love Eric Vetro, man)

I'm so thankful working with my best friend, she the chico

Where you at? Where you been? (Oh yeah)
Where you been? Where you at, ho? Hey (Where you been?)
Where you at? Where you been, ho? Hey (Mmm, yeah)
I don't care where you been, ho (Been)
Where you been Cletus?
