Honestly, we only need to see the words, 'Harlan Coben' and 'Netflix' side by side and we're sold. The thriller writer's Netflix series are known for being total edge-of-your-seat hits, and we'd only just recovered from Stay Close when his latest drama, Hold Tight, dropped on the streamer. But, now the series is out fans are all asking one big question, and Coben himself has finally taken to Twitter to respond.

The series follows the family of a young man who goes missing soon after his friend dies. Uprooting life in the tight-knit, affluent Warsaw suburb he lived in, slowly unraveling those around him, and exposing secrets and lies.

The series has only been out for a few days but already fans are obsessed, and are going off Coben's original book of the same name to unpick a long list of theories and easter eggs in the show. But, on top of that, fans began asking one big question about the series, and it didn't take long for Harlan himself to respond.

If you've watched Hold Tight you'll know that the series is a Polish production, filmed in Polish with either dubbing or subtitles for English speakers. This is the same as Coben earlier series The Woods, which was also filmed in Polish and even features some of the same characters as Hold Tight.

This has prompted a number to ask why exactly the series was filmed in Polish when a lot of Coben's other work is filmed in English, with some people complaining about the English dubbing. So, Coben took to Twitter to clear up a few things.

"To answer the question, 'Why are some shows not filmed in English?' the short answer is 'Why not?' Also a reminder: Netflix gives you the option of watching with English subtitles OR English dubbing."

His tweet got a lot of praise from viewers who said how much they enjoyed the series and that actually, they enjoyed it even the more for having subtitles.

"Love your answer, and love a good subtitle too, so many great international shows on Netflix that otherwise would not be showcased, about to start The Innocent," one fan wrote. Another responded, "They are perfectly dubbed. Let’s be honest we are talking about Harlan’s excellent work. I’d learn a new language if I had to."

Frankly, we love a subtitle. It's the best way to stop doomscrolling through your favourite shows.
