I know The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was booming on BookTok, but I have to say that Malibu Rising really blew my expectations out of the water. Like many TikTokers, I expected a simple beach read about a family, but the Taylor Jenkins Reid's writing style and depth of characters really shaped this book to one of the top 10 historical fiction books on my list.
