Penélope Cruz steps out with a majorly short haircut at the Annual Governors Awards

If I drank every time a celebrity got a bob haircut in 2024, I'd probably be... well, only a couple shots down but hey, we're only a week and a half in – so, we're on the path to success (read: blackout). And today, it's Penélope Cruz offering up the tequila *shudders in flashbacks* with her interpretation of the cropped 'do. Last orders in, lads!
Earlier this week – that's, while we were all a little pre-occupied with the Golden Globes and Jennifer Aniston's new/old Rachel haircut – Penélope stepped out at the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards [9 January, 2024].
For the coveted red carpet event, the actor went all out with a star-studded white tiered gown, however, all-in-all, it wasn't the 'fit that stole the spotlight but her fresh shoulder-length haircut.
Now, a bob chop is a relatively low-maintenance solution for someone who may struggle to style or tame their hair and it typically reaches between the collarbone and chin-length. In Penélope's case, she and her hairstylist, Pablo Iglesias have opted for the longer of the two short options which is a style we like to call the 'lob'. Aka, a long bob!
Pablo has styled the ends of her tresses inward to create an inverted flicky bob. Flattering and subtle yet still very on-trend.

It's quite the dramatic transformation having waved goodbye to around 5+ inches of hair and we, of course, love to see it!
