Penélope Cruz Puts a Biker Spin on the Classic Chanel Skirt Suit in Paris

Penélope Cruz traded her flirty floral dresses for an edgy biker-chic look to support Chanel at the fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2024 show in Paris on Tuesday.

To sit front row at the show, the longtime Chanel ambassador pulled out a black skirt suit from the brand, which rather than being composed of Coco’s signature tweed, was actually made of black leather and embellished with round gold and black buttons. The set seems to be vintage, and Cruz paired it with shiny black leather peep-toe heels with an ankle strap to give it a modern twist.

Tucked into the miniskirt was a yellow knit sweater with a frilly white cottagecore eyelet collar and cuffs in a floral pattern. Cruz added another yellow accent at the waist, courtesy of a beaded mustard-yellow and gold belt with Chanel’s CC logo emblazoned in tiny white crystals at the center. She also wore circular yellow and gold CC earrings to match.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona star layered on more Chanel bling with a chunky gold chain necklace featuring a CC charm in gold, covered in small white pearls. She added on some tortoiseshell shades, and the final touch to her outfit was a black quilted bag with the luxury brand’s iconic chain strap.

Cruz wore natural rosy makeup and a red pedicure, and paired her cool suit look with a very Parisian hairdo: a chic, straight brunette bob.

The show today kicked off with a screening of a black-and-white short film, which saw Cruz and Brad Pitt as the stars and paid homage to the French beachside resort of Deauville, which Chanel’s entire show was inspired by. In the short film, directed by Claude Lelouch, the actors reenact scenes from a classic French film 1966’s A Man and a Woman.

Other celebrities in attendance at the show included Vanessa Paradis, Zazie Beetz, Margaret Qualley, Zoey Deutch, and Riley Keough.
