Penélope Cruz Leads a Parade of Chanel Muses in an Emotional Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld

As the fashion community said goodbye to Chanel’s legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld, his muses united on the runway for his final show. The brand’s Fall 2019 collection featured the runway debut of actress Penélope Cruz, who sauntered down the snow-covered set at the Grand Palais in wedge boots and layers of ruffles. The Oscar-winner, who became a Chanel face in 2018, was among the many members of Lagerfeld’s inner circle to take part in the show. With Cara Delevingne opening and longtime favorite models like Mariacarla Boscono, Amanda Sanchez, Soo Joo Park, and Anna Ewers all present, the cast was a tribute to Lagerfeld’s enduring legacy.

The muses weren’t limited to the runway: in the front row, Lagerfeld’s tried and true favorites were all present from actresses turned campaign regulars like Kristen Stewart to the supermodel brigade of Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Karen Elson, Brandi Quionnes, and Liu Wen. A stunning send-off for one of fashion’s icons, the star-studded show ended with a tearful finale walk, featuring Cruz and an army of Chanel beauties.
