Penélope Cruz Is Ethereal in a Hooded Sheer Mint Green Gown at the Met Gala

Penélope Cruz knows how to make an entrance.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona star arrived at the 2023 Met Gala in an angelic hooded sheer gown in a light mint green hue by Chanel. The dress featured an ample skirt, white pearl buttons, and shimmering silver sequin embellishments—including of the fashion house's glittering "CC" logo—throughout. She added a matching belt, also printed with the Chanel logo, adorned with a circular pearl buckle—all in honor of the house's late creative director Karl Lagerfeld.

She added some more sparkle with silver sky-high platform sandals and silver-and-diamond hoop earrings. The actress opted for simple, sophisticated glam: a bronzy sparkly eye, a glossy nude lip, and a slicked-back hairdo.

Cruz is among the celebrities co-chairing the lavish event and was one of the first to walk the red carpet. The others co-chairs are pop singer Dua Lipa, British screenwriter Michaela Coel, and tennis star Roger Federer.

Cruz has long been known for her classic, timeless style. While the Chanel ambassador usually stays away from the spotlight, she is a regular at high-fashion events—and is more often than not dressed in head-to-toe Chanel.

This March, The Academy Award-winning actress made a dazzling appearance at the brand's fall/winter 2023–24 runway show during Paris Fashion Week. For the occasion, she wore a blazer minidress in the French luxury house's signature tweed. The piece featured a deep V-neckline, flared miniskirt, and wispy white, yellow, and pink feathers on the skirt.

She also wore Chanel to the 2022 Venice Film Festival—a brown-and-pink long-sleeve dress, which she paired only with pearl statement earrings.
