ALLY LOVE: --self care is making sure spiritually, mentally I'm holding myself accountable to show up and to let go.

DANA OLIVER: Hi, Beauties. I'm Dana Oliver. And on this episode of My Beauty, My Way, I'm talking Beyonce-themed Peloton classes, post workouts skin care, and more, with Ally Love. Ally is a fitness influencer, media personality, and the founder of the empowerment community Love Squad.

Everyone is talking about Peloton. And you're one of the brand's star instructors. But I'd love to know, what do you love most about connecting with the Peloton community as a cycling trainer?

ALLY LOVE: You know what's beautiful about Peloton is I always say that there's a level of humanity. There's a level of humanity that's a fabric of the culture within the company, and that comes with our members. When you hop on that mat or that bike with me, I know we are all uniquely different. And we want to recognize those differences and celebrate them and champion them. The instructors and our culture of the company is what really cultivates the community.

DANA OLIVER: For most people, it can be really hard to get up and get moving, especially during our pandemic. Have you struggled with this at all? And how do you get the motivation to get up and get moving?

ALLY LOVE: What I've been trying to do is reshape or reframe that question in terms of how I engage with it and how I think about it. Instead of thinking about it being motivation, it's like, what's my purpose? How can movement and/or working out get me closer to that purpose?

My purpose is to always be a facilitator of change, of conversation, of connection, right, to hold space for people. There's no way that we could be any of those things if we are not physically able to do them to the capacity that works for us. And I think that movement and this level of physicality puts us in that position to perform at our best, given who we are and what we're doing. Every small decision adds up to a great outcome.

DANA OLIVER: Let's talk skin care routine. You were recently named REN Skincare ambassador. What attracted you to the brand, and have you always used the products?

ALLY LOVE: I think it's all about the ethos and the commitment to clean skin, clean planet. And I think that that's really important to me. I've been using their products before I was an ambassador. So when they approached, I was, you know, I was definitely interested.

The 2021 commitment to become zero waste by the end of 2021, I think that that, to me, that pledge in itself, that sealed the deal.

DANA OLIVER: Take me through your pre workout skincare routine.

ALLY LOVE: I wake up in the morning, and I'll do a workout. Then I have to go get dressed, like do my makeup and get on the bike. And in that, after I've already sweated, to go sweat, I need to make sure that my skin isn't irritated before I get on camera to sweat again. Again, I know this sounds crazy. And so for me, it's like the Evercalm cleansing gel really allows it to just like-- it cleanses my skin, reduces the redness before working out, and I use it after working out.

And then I do the Ready Steady, again, our favorite Glow Daily AHA tonic, which is for that, the excess sweat and like the clogging of pores, which is so important, making sure that before I get on that bike again, I de-clog the pores, same thing, prior.

And most times, as soon as I see vitamin C on anything, I'm like, I'm down with the get down. I go with it-- the Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream. Vitamin C hydrates and I think it illuminates sincerely my skin on the daily.

And so I would say pre and post workout, those are like the routines that I'm attracted to. Those are my like, I'm down with the get down, I'm going to go there.

DANA OLIVER: Complete this sentence for me. My beauty is--

ALLY LOVE: My beauty is gratitude towards my past ancestors and a reflection of the future.
