If your dream has ever been to ride the Tour or La Course, Pearl Izumi’s latest clothing, the PI / Black kit is going to make that fantasy feel even closer. The company newest kit brings tech from the company's speediest pro-level pieces to create fast-and exceptionally comfortable, it says-gear for everyday riders.

The kit's PRO-transfer fabric is Italian-made, as are all of pieces in the line. The pieces combine Tour de France tech with sleek, modern aesthetics. The seams are bonded rather than sewn, which creates smooth, low-bulk garments that fit like a second skin and eliminates nearly all stitching. The edges of the fabric are sonic-cut (yep, with sound) so they lie flat and maintain their softness and comfort (something disrupted by laser-cutting, which melts the fabric a little).

It’s Pearl's first summer-weight kit to employ the PI Dry technology-garments are woven with yarn created from waterproof fibers. So unlike a rain jacket, it stretches, and since the waterproofing is integrated at the fiber level, it will never wash out. The fabric repels water as well as sweat, meaning the fiber transfers the sweat away from your body for quick evaporation to keep you cool while you power uphill-and you won’t have to descend in saturated clothes.

The jersey is anatomically constructed to optimize on-bike fit and has three rear pockets plus a hidden security pocket, as well as reflective elements for low-light visibility.

The bonded-seams in the bibs are a patented design by Pearl Izumi. The company uses technology based on how bandages are wrapped on burn victims, where getting pressure even is critical. In the bibs, Pearl uses it to ensure that the fabric compression is even through the length of the leg, creating a comfortable fit and smooth silhouette.

Both men's and women's bibs feature gender-specific chamois, the PRO Escape 1:1 with floating top sheet that Pearl says minimizes chafing. The men’s shorts have a 10-inch inseam and women’s have an 8.5-inch inseam (M) and have reflective details for low-light visibility.

The women’s bibs have a clamp on the front so riders can choose whether they want the straps to sit closer or wider on their chest, as well as unique V-strap drop-tail design for quick and easy bathroom breaks.
