One of my all time favorite snacks is apple slices and peanut butter. Here in the test kitchen, it's one of our favorite healthy snacks. It's wintertime here on the east coast, and not much fruit is in season so we've been going extra hard on the apples.

These peanut butter stuffed apples are sort of a riff on our favorite healthy snack, but don't be fooled. These guys are DECADENT!

Start with some halved apples and core them with a melon baller or spoon. Depending how much peanut butter you want in them, you can make the wells in the apples big or small. Brush those babies in butter and pop them in the oven to soften. When they're starting to lose some color and crispness, spoon some peanut butter into their wells and bake a few more minutes.

When they're fork tender, remove them from the oven and load them up with a drizzle of chocolate and a healthy sprinkling of chopped Reese's pieces. The molten peanut butter fuses with the chocolate into a magma if sweet richness. Healthy? No. Delicious? Extremely.
