Stephen Graham has officially joined the cast of Peaky Blinders’ sixth and final series.

The Line of Duty star’s involvement in the forthcoming series was last year revealed by the actor himself, but his role was put on “indefinite” hold due to the pandemic. It was unknown whether Graham would still be able to star.

However, fans are now feeling relieved to see Graham’s involvement confirmed by the announcement.

On Thursday (29 April), the official Peaky Blinders Twitter confirmed that the 47-year-old was joining the show, sharing a photo of the actor in character.

“We’re thrilled that @StephenGraham73 has joined the cast of #PeakyBlinders series 6,” the tweet read, with fans celebrating the news of Graham’s casting.

“SO EXCITING,” one fan wrote, while another added: “Just when you think this program couldn’t get any better!”

It’s currently unknown who Graham will be playing, but rumours suggest he could be starring as gangster Al Capone. The British actor last played the American gangster in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

His appearance in the show was teased earlier this week after on-set photos showed Graham working behind the scenes in a waistcoat and white shirt.

In January, the BBC confirmed that Peaky Blinders was coming to an end after its forthcoming series.

However, it was reported that the story would continue in “another form”, with creator Steven Knight confirming that a film adaptation was “going to happen”.
