This is not a drill!

It was only a few short weeks ago that Community creator Dan Harmon said that a spin-off film was coming "eventually," but he couldn't really confirm any details at the time and warned fans that the film wouldn't be coming as soon as they hoped it would.

But just yesterday, Sept. 30, Peacock officially announced that the film, dubbed Community the Movie, has been greenlit, per TVLine, and it's not too far off.

According to the outlet, Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong are slated to hit the small screen again in the follow-up to the series, which wrapped up in 2015. Donald Glover, Chevy Chase and Yvette Nicole Brown are reportedly not returning for the project, but the latter did tweet her excitement and support.

Harmon is writing the script alongside Andrew Guest, who will produce with McHale, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster. The film is slated for a 2023 premiere, but they're keeping plot details close for now, stating only that it will be "the least predictable movie of a TV series that referenced a lot of movies and TV."

While announcing the upcoming film, McHale mistakenly tweeted at the wrong Gillian, teasing fans with the idea that Gillian Anderson would be appearing. While that's not the case, the X-Files star is game.

Perhaps they'll give her a cameo to make up for the error?
