Pay Up—Swifties Are Banned From Listening To Her Concert From The Parking Lot

Ticketless Taylor Swift fans were dealt a major blow when it was announced that they'll be unable to tailgate at the pop star's shows at MetLife Stadium this weekend. Swift is set to perform three shows—May 26, May 27, and May 28—at the East Rutherford, New Jersey venue.

The ban, which has been attributed to potential traffic and gridlock, was announced on MetLife Stadium's social media accounts on May 24.

“For the safety and enjoyment of all those who have tickets for these shows, we strongly encourage those without tickets not to come to MetLife Stadium on show days. Event tickets corresponding to that evening's concert are required to access the parking lots. Our parking lots will be at maximum capacity. Additional unauthorized crowds create traffic and gridlock for everyone," read the message.

A stadium rep also confirmed the news with NorthJersey.com, saying, “Please don’t come to the stadium without a ticket. We want to make sure the fan with tickets can get in and have a great night.”

The announcement from MetLife Stadium didn't receive too much pushback, but there were those without a concert ticket who expressed their disappointment at being unable to tailgate.

"This is so disappointing. There are so many fans who couldn’t get/can’t afford tickets, and the only way we were going to experience the concert was in the parking lot. Please consider selling parking-only tix like @GilletteStadium did," said a fan on Twitter in response to the news.

"So astronomically depressed about the closed parking lots," another person added.
