  • Model Paulina Porizkova, 56, just shared a moving, body-positive caption underneath a brand new lingerie photo on Instagram.

  • She has also opened up recently about finding her independence after leaving her controlling marriage to the late singer-songwriter Ric Ocasek.

  • "I’ve never liked the way I look more than I do today," Paulina wrote.

Paulina Porizkova isn't afraid to use her platform to speak out. The model, 56, is back on Instagram with another powerful caption—this time, about growing more body-positive as she ages.

Paulina just posted a snap from a recent lingerie photoshoot and shared her thoughts underneath. "When I was younger, I put on lingerie for HIM. Now I dress in lingerie for ME," she wrote. Paulina was married to the late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek for 30 years until his death in 2019.

"No, I no longer have the suppleness of youth, but I have the softness of maturity. My eyes may not be as clearly defined or wide, but they see so much more," Paulina continued. "My lips may not be as full, but they are far more willing to speak truths and laugh without restraint."

"My hair is no longer brown, but the softening silver strands add interest and contrast," she added. "My skin no longer reflects light like a polished mirror, instead it gathers it, and puts it inside my heart, where it warms and makes me shine."

"I celebrate me, my body and the things it can do and feel. (So what - a little hip arthritis…) And mourn the years I lost to be able to fully appreciate it," she wrote. "I’ve never liked the way I look more than I do today. (The other stuff is still work in progress.)"

"And THAT’S why I wear lingerie," Paulina finished. "Photo by my friend @jill.greenberg #betweenjloandbettywhite #sexyhasnoexpirationdate #midlife #lovetheskinyourein."

Lately, Paulina has been outspoken about finding her independence again after her marriage to Rick ended. “He didn't want me to do anything,” Paulina shared in a recent episode of the podcast The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, per Yahoo! Life.

“He didn't want me to go anywhere. He wanted me to be within his circle at all times. I was his sole emotional provider for everything, and I confused that with love," she explained. Paulina also said she was objectified and felt more like a “treasured possession” than like a person.

"It was a collective thing that just stuck with me forever, and I still feel that way, which, of course, is remarkable then that me, self-proclaimed feminist, goes and marries a guy who tells her how to dress,” she added.

Paulina's followers on Instagram shared plenty of words of support: "All true. Beautifully said. Beautifully presented every day. Love live," actress Selma Blair commented. Alyssa Milano added, "you’re my hero. I love you so much."Bravo! 100%!!!" said news anchor Ellen Leyva.
