Paulina Porizkova and Friend Show Off Gray Hair in New Post: ‘Middle Age Looks Good With a Smile’
Paulina Porizkova, 56, shared a candid photo with a friend on Instagram, writing: “Middle age looks good with a smile!”
She used the post to joke about how she and her friend accidentally wore matching “messy bun” hairpieces “to look somewhat polished” with little time for “good hair.”
Her followers loved the honesty, and some admitted to using similar pieces in a pinch.
Friendships evolve over time, just like we do as individuals, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Paulia Porizkova shared proof of that by highlighting the beauty of middle-aged friendships in her latest Instagram: a candid selfie with her good pal, Sheila, who showed up to their function wearing the same hairpiece as her. 😂
In the photo, the pair stand side-by-side, each with an arm around the other. “Middle age looks good with a smile!” Porizkova, 56, captioned the post. She then went on to tell the story of how they discovered they were wearing the same hairpiece.
Porizkova hosted a dinner party, and Sheila arrived with her mane styled in a messy bun. “We took one look at each other and burst out laughing. Sure enough, I had the same messy bun made from the same cheap polyester hair!” the former supermodel wrote.
She continued, adding that the faux piece is their “‘go-to’ when we want to look somewhat polished and have no time for good hair.” She pledged to show followers what they look like—which is essentially an elastic hair tie covered in curly strands—next week. “For now, here’s to best friends with the same hair! 😁,” she concluded. “(Bought at the same store😂).”
Porizkova’s followers loved the candid moment, and plenty of them admitted to using similar pieces in a pinch. “Hahahaha. Omg! I know exactly what you’re talking about and I TOO have one that is my ‘fancy hair’ 😂😂,” Full House star Jodie Sweetin commented. “Lol I have several, in various shades to match my most recent hair colors. I love that you both had them in. 😂”

On Instagram, Porizkova often chronicles her views of anti-aging culture while simultaneously empowering women to embrace getting older. “Combat age. Reverse aging. Rejuvenate. Anti age. None of this is possible. Yet, if you do an internet search on aging, this is what you’ll get. Pills, potions, and workouts to fight the aging process,” she wrote under a July 2021 Instagram. “You know what[‘s] the only way to stop aging? Dying.”
She continued: “I do not want to fight myself every day for the rest of my life. But I do want to make the best of what I was given. And I want to shine a bright light in the dark corners of the shame that is heaped on women for daring to age.”
In some cases, that means talking Botox and her lack of it. Other times, she steps boldly into her sexy side. And in this case, she’s revealing her bad hair day hack, despite how silly it might seem.
