Paula Deen Opens a New Restaurant Inside a San Antonio Bass Pro Shop

If you’re a butter-loving fishing enthusiast who lives in San Antonio, today is your lucky day. Paula Deen's eponymous Family Kitchen restaurant celebrated the opening of a new location in the Bass Pro Shops at the RIM shopping center—the country’s first.

The location, which will replace the retail giant’s trademark restaurant, Islamorado Fish Company, will reportedly be similar to Deen's famous Lady & Sons in Savannah, and will be accompanied by a retail boutique featuring items hand-selected by the culinary maven herself. It will be Deen’s second restaurant in Texas.

According to MySanAntonio.com, the restaurant has 275 seats and includes a working replica of Deen's kitchen.

"I adore all of my fans in Texas, and bringing my Southern cooking to San Antonio is something I have dreamed about for years,” Deen said in a news release. “This is the perfect place to bring together family, friends and great Southern food—three of my favorite things.”
