We've been following the behind-the-scenes action from Paul Thomas Anderson's latest picture, spotting the cast on set in Sacramento and keeping up with the casting news, but now we finally have a release date.

His next film, still untitled, is heading to theaters on August 8 2025 and will even get its turn in IMAX.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Alana Haim, Wood Harris and Chase Infiniti, cameras have been rolling in California for a few months.

The studio behind the film is Warner Bros, who are coming off a successful year with billion-dollar hit Barbie, as well as Wonka and The Color Purple and have started 2024 off strong with Dune: Part Two.

Warner Bros are describing PTA's latest as an "event film", which is no surprise considering their most recent hits.

Paul Thomas Anderson is known for his award-winning work, which has scored him eleven Oscar nominations across almost three decades in the industry.

Though PTA has never taken home an Academy Award himself, his films have directed others to wins, including Daniel Day-Lewis, who landed his second statuette for his performance in There Will Be Blood.

The latest from PTA is described as his "most commercial film yet, with a budget to match". According to Variety, the film is in the $100 million range, the biggest budget of PTA's career to date.
