Gladiator 2 has officially wrapped filming, confirmed by Paul Mescal, who shared a photo with director Ridley Scott captioned "The End".

The two were pictured having a good time, smoking cigars and laughing in each other's company to celebrate the end of what promises to be an epic sequel to Scott's 2000 film Gladiator.

It's been over six months since the first look at the Gladiator 2 cast landed, which featured Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and a host of other familiar faces that make up the cast and crew.

Alongside Mescal and Pascal, the film's cast also includes Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, Matt Lucas, Derek Jacobi, May Calamawy, Peter Mensah, Fred Hechinger and Tim McInnerny.

Other than the epic baboon fight rumored to feature in the film, there's little more information on what to expect beyond the initial synopsis, which reveals that the film follows Lucius, the son of Maximus' love Lucilla, after Maximus' death.

Gladiator 2 is expected in theaters on November 22, 2024, meaning most of the year will be spent battling in post-production ahead of its much-anticipated release.
