Patrick Starrr Invited a Former MAC Coworker to Star in His Latest Campaign
You probably know Patrick Starrr as a beauty vlogger with nearly 4 million subscribers who casually hangs out and tries on makeup with celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Madelaine Petsch. Before he was gracing the world with his "one size fits all" makeup tips, though, he worked at a MAC cosmetics counter. And despite the fact that he now has a major collaboration deal with the brand (as in, five different collections), he hasn't forgotten where he came from.
For the latest MAC x Patrick Starrr release, Patrick's former MAC colleague, Melissa Duren, starred alongside him in the campaign. Not only were the images for the spring Floral Realness collection absolutely stunning (think: lots of flowers and vibrant purple and pink shadows), but the fact that Patrick got to feature the woman who "changed his life" by offering him a job working at MAC is so heartwarming.
Patrick took to Instagram to share some of the images, along with a seriously sweet tribute to Melissa. He added a touching caption to the photo of the pair serving major face in front of a backdrop of purple flowers, writing: "💐This woman @melisaduran changed my life... she was the first to say yes. I’ll never forget walking into MAC at the Florida Mall and hearing “Hey! Do you wanna work here” .....I was shocked. I remember I had tried applying at Ulta & Sephora with no luck. Thank you @melisaduran for taking my info on that little tissue paper and handing it to @kquinnmac !! I am forever grateful!! I decided to fly her out to be in my SPRING MAC campaign with me! The makeup artist also shared a second photo from the campaign with an important piece of advice: "You never know who you are going to meet. Treat everyone with kindness. Thank you @melisaduran 💐💐💐"
