Patagonia’s clothes are an investment. Yes, they’re expensive, but the quality construction and the brand's famous repair program make for a high ROI. That’s why when Patagonia goes on sale, we tend to take notice. In addition to technical outdoor gear, the company makes casual clothes and travel bags. Patagonia probably has something for you, even if you’re not a hiker.

Patagonia’s Diamond Quilted Bomber Hoodie is a casual, versatile layer for everyday wear. It’s currently discounted by as much as $100 in the Obsidian Plum colorway, and there are two other colors to choose from that are discounted by 40% — but sizes are limited, so you’ll want to act fast.

Patagonia’s jacket is part bomber, part puffer, and part hoodie, combining the comfort of the latter with the warmth and protection of an insulated jacket. It’s a looser fit compared to Patagonia’s Nano puff, and since it’s not packable, it’s better suited to casual everyday wear or day hikes than long, challenging excursions.

The jacket features a full zip design and open kangaroo hand pockets. The zippered chest pocket, commonly found on other Patagonia jackets, offers secure storage for sunglasses or a phone. Patagonia is known for its environmental activism, and this jacket is made in a Fair Trade-certified factory with recycled materials. The jacket is made from 100% recycled polyester with a DWR finish to resist moisture, and the recycled polyester fill provides warmth.

The boxier fit of the jacket makes for greater comfort and easier layering, while the drawstring hood provides additional protection from the cold. Shoppers were impressed with the jacket’s ability to keep them warm in colder weather, with one writing, “This is a great jacket for temps down to the 30s with a nice long-sleeved T-shirt underneath.” Another wore it over a T-shirt on a “windy Chicago day by Lake Michigan” and “didn't turn into an icicle!”

The casual style of the jacket was a selling point, with one shopper writing, “It’s a good jacket for everyday wear — not super technical but ideal for commuting in a city or running errands. Also looks a bit more fashionable!” Another wrote that it’s “really versatile and looks great,” adding, “It’s not a technical jacket but it has everything right for fall warmth in the city.”
