Pat Sajak Will Keep One Special Job in Retirement

Earlier this week, Pat Sajak announced that he was stepping down as host of Wheel of Fortune after its upcoming fall season. Just a few short days later, he's already making headlines for what he's going to be doing next.
USA Today reports that after he leaves Wheel of Fortune, Sajak will spend at least some of his retirement serving as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Hillsdale College in Michigan, a role he's had since 2019, when he got promoted from vice chairman of the private Christian school's board.

"For decades, Pat Sajak has been an icon of radio and television," a Hillsdale College spokesperson told USA Today via email. "We know that he will be missed and congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement."
"Hillsdale College is fortunate to have an even closer relationship with Mr. Sajak. Since 2019, we have benefitted from his wisdom, intellect, and good humor as chairman of Hillsdale’s board of trustees. We look forward to continuing our important work together and to what we are sure will be a bright future for Mr. Sajak and his family."
Sajak, 76, hosted Wheel of Fortune alongside Vanna White since the show debuted in syndication in 1983. He announced his retirement in a statement on Monday, June 12.
"Well, the time has come," he wrote on social media. "I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months."
