Pat Cleveland’s Josephine Baker Look

Legendary supermodel Pat Cleveland just released her book, Walking With the Muses, and chose performer and activist Josephine Baker as her own muse for the launch event. “Pat is performing a song about Josephine Baker so the look was inspired by her signature finger waves,” said Bumble & Bumble stylist Mischa G. “All the models are going to be in banana skirts – it’s going to be wild!”

To get the finger wave look, use Bb.Gel, Bb.Texture and Classic Hairspray with a comb. Models also wore pre-made spit curls from extensions, which were placed around the ears. Pull the rest of the hair back using Bb.Gel and create a tight chignon, securing with bobby pins. Mischa G recommends finishing off the look by covering the hair with a fine hairnet to create a clean silhouette.

Models wore vampy makeup looks reminiscent of Baker’s ‘20s style, with thin arced eyebrows, bright red lips, and smudgy black eyes. The looks were complete with banana skirts, gold, and all.
