Can You Out Pasta the Hut? Pizza Hut Welcomes Four New Menu Items

Mmmmmmm, cheese.

Pizza Hut is giving fast foodies a penne for their sauce, so to speak.

The pizza company recently rolled out an expanded menu to include more than just doughy, cheesy, goodness in the form of pizzas, breadsticks, and finger foods.

Customers nationwide will now have the option to choose from four full-of-flavor family favorite Oven-Baked pasta entrees; including Cheesy or Chicken Alfredo, an Italian Meats-inspired dish, and a veggie option.

The new and improved menu does come at a cost for fans of the chain's Tuscani® pasta dish that was introduced in 2003. As stated in a press release, this all-new pasta line has replaced the rotini-based Tuscani on menus nationwide.

Here's the official new line-up of Pizza Hut pasta dishes:

  • Chicken Alfredo: Classic combination of Pizza Hut's revamped creamy Alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, and oven-baked cheese.

  • Italian Meats: A savory new recipe that's packed with sweet tomato sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage and of course, cheese.

  • Cheesy Alfredo: A cheese lover's dream featuring the company's new and improved creamy Alfredo sauce and two layers of cheese with baked-fresh parmesan on top.

  • Veggie: A fresh and flavorful combo of sweet tomato sauce, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, black olives and oven-baked cheese.

Pizza Hut's all-new Oven-Baked Pasta dishes also come with an included side of your choice (either breadsticks or garlic bread) and an irresistible parmesan oregano topping. The new menu is also said to incorporate "more premium ingredients and savory sauces" than previous menu items, according to the release.

But not everyone is a fan of the upgraded menu.

"Hey! @pizzahut bring back the original pasta!!," one user tweeted. Another, devastated over the loss of a pasta dish, interrogated the brand online: "I’m seriously finna cry the tears of a mf clown cause why tf did pizza hut discontinue the meaty marinara pasta?"

Others, were quite excited to try the new pasta dishes and continued to pledge their loyalty to the brand—especially once they realized what a deal the pasta dish combo worked out to be ($8.99 for one Oven-Baked Pasta dish + garlic/breadsticks or $13.99 for two pasta dishes + the included sides).

If you're interested in trying the new menu, visit the Pizza Hut restaurant locator either online or in the Pizza Hut app to find a participating store near you.
