ANSWER: 2003

Chip and Joanna first opened the original Magnolia Market store on Bosque Blvd. in 2003. Joanna then closed the market (nicknamed "the little shop on Bosque") in March 2006, reopened it again in May 2014, and then moved their store to the Silos in 2015.

When the couple first told fans Fixer Upper would end after five seasons, they revealed they were leaving because wanted to spend more time working on their growing retail empire, but later admitted they also wanted to avoid any potential marriage troubles. "The most important thing in the world is Jo and I's relationship, followed very quickly by these four beautiful kids, Chip told TODAY. "We didn't want to push it, to redline it for so long that we woke up and realized we are at a point of no return. So, we wanted to take a step back and focus on what is absolutely the most important thing to us." Thankfully, their break wasn't too long, as they brought back the beloved show with the Magnolia Network's Fixer Upper: Welcome Home in early 2021.

While they both attended Baylor University at the same time, the two didn't meet until after graduation when Chip stopped by Joanna's dad's Firestone store.
