Paris Jackson defends smoking pot on social media: 'It's an incredible medical tool'

Paris Jackson has made her pot-smoking habits public — but some fans aren’t feeling it.

The 19-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson documented her date with a large bud on Instagram Stories, which she also shared on Twitter. And while recreational marijuana was officially legalized in her home state of California in January, the openness of the Gringo actress about blazing up rubbed some of her followers the wrong way.

A few suggested that, by smoking pot, Jackson was setting a bad example for her younger fans. Others accused her of glamorizing drug use to get attention. Then there were those who invoked her late father’s memory to shame her behavior.

Jackson responded to the criticism, tweeting, “I think I’m doing pretty OK considering the circumstances.” She told another follower that she thought her weed video was “funny.”

She also defended marijuana as an “amazing organic medicine” and “incredible medical tool.”

Despite the criticism, plenty of fans tweeted support for Jackson’s herbal habit.

Last year, Jackson described herself as sober as she opened up to Rolling Stone about her earlier addiction to antidepressants and other drugs.
