Well, there’s officially no doubt about who Paris Hilton‘s son takes after. Baby Phoenix is coming up on nine months old, and proud mom Paris couldn’t help but gush about him during a recent appearance on “Fallon Tonight.” But when host Jimmy Fallon asked if Phoenix’s first word was “Mama,” Paris was quick to correct him.

“No, it was ‘yaaas,'” she said, setting the record straight and cementing her child’s status as an icon in that one sentence.

The crowd and Fallon burst into laughter and applause, because that’s objectively hilarious.

“It was not,” Fallon said, still laughing. “There’s no way. He said ‘yaaas’?”

“Yes,” Paris confirmed. “Wonder who he got that from?”

Yes, we wonder.

Well, it’s clear that Paris has taken perfectly to motherhood with her first baby, who she welcomed earlier this year with her husband, Carter Reum. She’s been blissfully sharing her journey on social media, too. In July, she shared a sweet tribute to little Phoenix for his six-month milestone, including a photo of her snuggling him in her lap on top of a big, pink rug.

“This Barbie is a Mom,” she wrote in the caption, celebrating the Barbie movie craze that was taking over the world at the time. “My baby boy Phoenix is 6 months old today. He is my world and makes my life feel so complete. Can’t wait for all the magical memories we will create together! Mommy loves you so much angel baby.”

Phoenix was born in January. Paris announced at the time that she had welcomed her first baby via a surrogate. While she’s been pretty open about sharing her journey into motherhood, she’s also spoken about wanting to protect Phoenix from growing up in the spotlight like she did.

“My entire life has been so public. I’ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in March. “I want to protect him and to be with him every second. You have this mother instinct that kicks in, which I’ve never had before. I feel so complete now.”
