Parents share their hilarious hack for taking passport photos of toddlers

This family on TikTok shared a brilliant trick for taking passport photos of cranky toddlers, which involves disguising oneself in a bedsheet while holding the child in front of the camera, and viewers are in hysterics over the relatable stunt.

TikTokers Gabby and Christian Carlin (@thecarlinfamily) are busy parents and vloggers who frequently post clips of fun family moments with their children, Audrey and Asher. One of their videos features a clever hack for successfully taking passport photos of fussy toddlers using a bedsheet, and viewers are in stitches over the creative method.

The clip begins with a shot of Christian attempting to sit his daughter, Audrey, down on a white chair in front of a white backdrop so she can have her passport photo taken.

Audrey, who’s adorably decked out in a onesie with ruffles and a pair of white sneakers, is not having it, and squirms around in frustration each time her dad tries to sit her on the chair.

However, as shown in the following footage, Christian has a solution and covers himself with a white bedsheet that matches the photo backdrop.

The clip then cuts to a shot of Christian, looking like a cartoon ghost, seated in front of the camera and holding his daughter as she has her picture taken.

The final result is a photo of a skeptical-looking Audrey in front of what looks like a wrinkled curtain. “Passport pic or mugshot?” the Carlins joke, as the video comes to a close.

Viewers were highly amused by the Carlins’ crafty passport photo hack.

“We did the same thing for my kid 2 years ago! It is not easy,” mentioned one parent.

“Later in life, tell her a ghost was holding her,” one TikToker recommended.

“Hahaha, thank you for [the] amazing idea,” said another user with a string of laughing emojis.
Getting a toddler to sit still is no easy feat. As the Carlins’ video demonstrates, sometimes a little creativity goes a long way.
