Parents put 5-year-old’s art on display in adorable home ‘art reception’
These parents hosted an art reception for their 5-year-old son’s artwork and it was so adorable!
Mary Ellen (@maryyy_ellen) is a parent and TikToker who came up with the most unique way to celebrate her 5-year-old’s art—she threw an art reception for him!
In an adorable video, Mary Ellen shows how she invited all her friends and loved ones to come appreciate and even purchase her son’s artwork. The adorable art show featured tasty appetizers, drinks, and of course tons of adorable art.
“So we decided to hold a real art reception for our 5-year-old son,” Mary Ellen writes in a caption as the video begins.
The TikToker walks around her house, showing off some of the features of the art show. Tables and walls throughout the house are lined with framed works of art, all made by her talented 5-year-old. There are drawings of airplanes, houses, people, and even some colorful works of abstract art.
In addition to artwork, Mary Ellen made sure to provide her guests with plenty of snacks and drinks. She shows a long table covered in plates of meats, cheeses, olives, pickles, and more. Not to mention plenty of bottles of wine for the grown-ups!
Mary Ellen records her friends and family as they wander throughout the art reception, admiring her 5-year-old’s works of art and sipping wine.
Then, the artist makes an appearance! The adorable 5-year-old runs around the house in bright pink sweatpants and a sweatshirt, while the grown-ups chat and look at art.
Finally, when everyone has had a chance to appraise his work, he gets down to business. In a caption, Mary Ellen explains that the 5-year-old was able to sell several works of art during the show and “made that $$.”
“Such a fun idea,” Mary Ellen writes in a caption. “So proud of his successful night and thankful for supportive friends and family.”
The adorable art show had hearts melting all over TikTok.
