Parents, Be Honest — What Do You Actually Hate Doing With Your Kids?

Parenting, when done with love, is beautiful to witness. But that does not mean all parts of being a parent are beautiful. Even committed parents get fed up, because taking care of kids can be annoying. After all, parents are just people, too.

If you're a parent or guardian, I want to hear from you: What is something you feel like you should enjoy doing with your kids, but actually hate?

Maybe you love traveling...just not with your kids. You learned this after your last family vacation as you walked through the Miami airport with a diaper bag, pump bag, milk cooler bag, and stroller as your two older children kept shoving each other while you frantically searched for your departure gate.

Does your kid love to mess around with Play-Doh and you have to hand it over with a smile on your face, even though it makes your blood boil that you'll likely find random specks of hot pink around your carpeted apartment for weeks?

Perhaps you love that your daughter is a track star, but you hate having to drive her to early morning practices, pick her up at late-night practices, drive her to competition meets, pay for her team costs, and mingle with her teammates' boring parents. You still do it because you care; you just don't like it.

Or maybe you just never liked cooking! And now that you're a single parent, there's an expectation for you to cook homemade meals for your offspring over a hot stove, when you really just want to DoorDash Jack in the Box and watch The Bachelor on mute, in total silence.
