"Parasite" Director Bong Joon Ho Praised BTS on the Golden Globes 2020 Carpet

"I think Korea produces a lot of great artists cause we’re very emotionally dynamic people."

Parasite director Bong Joon Ho is a documented BTS fan, and during Golden Globes 2020, he again referenced the Korean group's success and the power it has.

Before winning the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture — Foreign Language for Parasite, the director walked the red carpet, and in an interview, he name-checked Bangtan. "Although I’m here at the Golden Globes, BTS has 3,000 times the amount of power and influence that I have. I think Korea produces a lot of great artists cause we’re very emotionally dynamic people," Bong said, as fans noticed on Twitter.

It's not the first time the Korean director has mentioned BTS in recent weeks. While on The Tonight Show, he told Jimmy Fallon, "I particularly enjoyed the episode when BTS was here." Same.

ARMYs are definitely here for the director's support, and proud of Bong's own immense accomplishments. "Bong Joon-ho gives @BTS_twt so much props. I love the respect he has for them. There's pride in his voice every time he mentions them, and I'm glad Western media gets to see that respect displayed in every interview he does," one person wrote. Another added, "BTS & bong joon ho radiate the same energy in the way they approach their art and how it has the power in breaking any barriers. that’s beautiful man."

And, of course, fans are already ready for a collab. "10 years from now a movie abt bts’ rise to fame, directed by bong joon ho, at that point it’s common for non english language films to get oscars, it wins best picture with best original song by bts themselves just picture it," one fan predicted. We would like to see it.
