Marta Galaz Cancio’s love of entertaining began during childhood dinners. “Everything is around the table in my family—the eating and the time after the meal, called sobremesa, when you stay for hours and chat,” says Cancio, a graphic designer who grew up in Spain but lives in Miami. Her memories led to Casa Felix, a brand that inspires joyful and approachable hosting. Using collages of vintage botanical prints, Cancio creates paper goods that range from ready-made place cards to custom suites. “My designs are meant to add a special touch to moments that may otherwise feel less so,” she says. Here, she lends her whimsy to a party-worthy table.

Bright, Coastal-Inspired Details

Citrus reminds me of summer,” says Cancio. “It’s so easy to decorate with—it doesn’t have to be arranged and transports you to somewhere else.” She worked with designer Alexis Eskenazi to select Sferra napkins and Emporio Sirenuse plates in colors of the sea. Using a Lisa Corti tablecloth and place mats and flatware rented from Soirée Everyday, they created what Cancio calls a “breezy, sunny setting.”

Brunch Under The Oaks

This lemon-dotted table was set beneath a large tree at Torres’ father’s home, where the family often gathers. “You should start with a piece, maybe it’s the most colorful or maximalist, and then go from there. Something should always link to something else,” says Cancio of creating a cohesive look, as she did here with yellow-accented serveware, flowers, and paper goods. “Place cards elevate everything. They make a guest feel like this spot was meant for them.”
