Believe it or not, but for some pizza lovers, the crust merely serves as a doughy vessel for all the good stuff. If you prefer tasty toppings over a flaky crust and want to eat pizza out of a plastic trough, then there's a new treat for you. Later this this month, Papa John's will introduce its latest menu item: Papa Bowls. Papa Bowls will include everything you'd find on a Papa John's pizza except crust.

Papa Bowls will be available in three varieties: Italian Meats Trio, Chicken Alfredo, and Garden Veggie. And if those options don't speak to you, you can also build your own Papa Bowl using ingredients that are available at the pizza chain.

"We are very excited to offer Papa Bowls as a new menu category and as a new way consumers can experience our premium ingredients,” said Scott Rodriguez, Papa John's Senior Vice President of Menu Strategy and Product Innovation, in a statement. “Our signature crust continues to be a beloved favorite, but we know that sometimes customers crave something different. We want them to know we are committed to delivering on all of those cravings through our menu.”

The bowls will cost $7.99 and will be available to the general public on August 22. Papa Rewards loyalty members will be able to purchase the new Papa Bowls a bit earlier, on August 15.
