Pantone’s ‘Potent and Powerful’ Forecast for London Fashion Week

Pantone released its Fall/Winter 2024-2025 forecast for London Fashion Week (LFW) today, revealing a “potent and powerful” palette of colors that blend retro influences with new ideas.

Like Pantone’s forecast for New York Fashion Week, trans-seasonal appeal is a key driver. The colors for LFW balance “wearability with desirability,” Pantone said, resulting in a group of mid-tones, nature-based hues, deep darks and natural neutrals.

“Colors for LFW Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 reimagine a new definition of core color and seasonless shades,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute’s executive director. “Linked to a more considered approach to color’s functionality, this creative yet approachable palette creates a strong foundational base upon which to layer playful accent tones that adds drama to the simplicity, indulges the senses and embraces the elevated every day.”

Pantone’s 10 standout colors are mix of saturated brights and rich tones inspired by nature.

The palette’s warm and nostalgic hues include a burnished brown called Sunburn luscious Cherry Tomato and Pureed Pumpkin, a hearty orange. The retro influence is strong in Starlight Blue, an ethereal blue that is lofty and airy, and Misted Yellow, a “lightly spiced veiled yellow that manifests the beauty of the natural world.”

Rain Forest green, Egglplant purple, Storm Front gray and Almond Milk white have grounding qualities.

Meanwhile, Wave Ride, a tropical ocean blue, speaks to consumers’ desire for escapism.

“Sleek and practical, yet visually engaging, they are dependable essentials that embrace an approach to dressing that is more pure and simple, but at the same time lends itself to creativity and playfully dramatic statements,” Pantone said about the palette.

A group of five “new classics” completes the firm’s forecast.

Sheepskin is a soft warm beige “filled with ease and comfort.” Pinecone is a straightforward rustic brown and Iguana is a versatile green that reflects consumers’ appreciation of nature.

The darkest hues are Evening Blue, a blackened blue, and Dark Shadow, a “staunch gray that moves with cold precision,” Pantone stated.
