Panerai Just Unveiled a 5-Piece Watch Collection Inspired by the Navy SEALs

Panerai’s latest collection pays homage to the Navy SEALs.

On Wednesday, the Italian watchmaker launched five new Luminor and Submersible designs inspired by the United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land Teams. Panerai first announced a partnership with the elite military force in September 2022 but has been creating watches for the U.S. Navy since the 1950s. This latest quintet builds on that legacy.

The highlight of the line is, of course, the experience watch. Priced at $61,700, the Experience Edition: Submersible Chrono Navy SEALs (PAM01402) features a 47 mm case made from a mix of brushed Brunito steel and titanium that is topped by a ceramic anti-clockwise rotating bezel with a graduated scale. The anthracite-shaded dial sports a chronograph counter at three o’clock, small seconds at nine, a “time to target” counter, as well as central chronograph seconds and minute hands. Limited to just 50 pieces, the watch is sold with an invitation to an immersive Special Operations Experience.

The Submersible BiTempo Navy Seals (PAM01323) is a versatile alternative, featuring a 44 mm dial made from brushed steel. A day-date window at three helps it differ from the other submersible, as does its black degrade dial. The watch is powered by the P.900/GMT caliber, an automatic movement with a three-day power reserve. The caseback is engraved with the SEALs emblem, like all other models in the collection.

Two of the new Luminors feature 42 mm cases but differ in terms of material. The Luminor Chrono Navy Seals (PAM01409) is fashioned from Brunito steel with a matching bezel, while the Luminor Chrono Carbotech Navy Seals (PAM01419) is made from Carbotech. Both references showcase front-shaded dials with Arabic numbers and hour markers. They each run on the P.9200 Chrono automatic caliber, too, for a power reserve of up to 42 hours. Model PAM01409 is limited to 562 pieces, while PAM01419 is limited to 462.

Last but not least, the Luminor Marina Navy Seals (PAM01412) is distinguished by a 44 mm steel case and a sunburst-like dial that fades from light to dark green. A small seconds counter placed at 9 o’clock adds a pop of color to the otherwise subdued face. The piece runs on the P.9010 caliber, which provides you with a three-day power reserve. It is also equipped with a hardwearing rubber strap and is shock-resistant. This particular Luminor is limited to 862 pieces.

Each timepiece comes with a Panerai box, booklet, guarantee card, second strap, and travel pouch. The styles range in price from $10,667 to $66,761.
