The slouchy straight-leg style is a must-have for spring.

Spring fashion is a breath of fresh air (literally). The season’s light, care-free pieces feel like a reward for suffering through months of being weighed down by heavy knits and warm layers. And while I’m a huge fan of flowy maxi dresses, streamlined shoes, and oversized button-downs, what I love the most about spring fashion is the denim.

Spring denim is all about light washes and relaxed silhouettes; it’s laid back and unfussy. And while I’ve had my eye on a few wide-leg styles (I love to get really relaxed with my clothing this time of year), Pamela Anderson just wore a pair of slouchy straight jeans that I’m now convinced my closet needs. The actress’ jeans featured a light, faded blue wash, classic straight-leg silhouette, and a little extra room through the hips and thighs. The style wasn’t necessarily oversized or even super baggy. The denim just had a perfect lived-in fit; they were quintessential California-girl jeans. I was immediately obsessed with finding a pair for my own wardrobe, and discovered 10 similar relaxed straight-leg jeans starting at just $34.

Levi’s 94 Baggy Jeans

While the name of these Levi’s may lead you to believe the jeans will hang off the body and sag, they’re honestly only slightly slouchier than the brand’s famous straight-leg jeans. Shoppers describe the fit as “already aged,” noting that you don’t need to break them in because they’ve been designed with a little extra room. That slouchiness led one person to say they feel like they’re “not wearing jeans at all,” while someone else said that they have the “perfect cozy fit” that’s “very flattering and very comfortable.”

Gap Mid-Rise Cotton '90s Loose Jeans

Gap’s lookalike Mid-Rise ‘90s Loose Jeans are a must-grab while they’re on sale starting at just $54. The pair is designed almost entirely from cotton, but features the smallest amount of elastane (literally one percent) to give the jeans a touch of stretch that one person said makes them “comfortable to wear all day.” As for the fit, these are “not not too loose or skinny and tight,” described one fan who deemed the fit “just right.” Another called the relaxed style “a nice change… from your snug fitting jeans,” while someone else noted that the “casual, easy-going, comfy look” goes with everything in their closet, from dressier tops to casual sweatshirts.

J.Crew Slouchy Straight Jeans

Shoppers also love J.Crew’s Slouchy Straight Jeans, which are on sale for just $60 with the code SHOPSALE. These feature a slightly baggier fit than the above styles, with extra space throughout — but despite that, they’re still not overwhelming on the body; shoppers say the “cut is very flattering.” They have a “modern style [with the] perfect fit,” raved one fan who was happy to find that the “leg was wide enough to feel updated” without feeling too big for their smaller frame. And per someone else, they’re “perfect” for spring thanks to the “comfy” fit, weight, and color.

Slouchy, straight-leg jeans are the relaxed style my wardrobe needs this spring. Shop more pairs inspired by Anderson’s vintage-esque style, below.
