Pamela Anderson shares how Tommy Lee's jealous behaviour led to her suicide attempt

Ahead of the release of her much-anticipated Netflix documentary, Pamela Anderson has opened up about how her relationship with Tommy Lee impacted her mental health.
Pamela, A Love Story is due to debut on the streaming platform at the end of this month and will tell the story of Anderson's rise to fame, rocky romances and infamous sex tape scandal, in her own words. Speaking to The Guardian in the run up to the documentary's release, Anderson recalled how her highly-publicised relationship with Lee – which was the focus of last year's Pam & Tommy dramatisation – resulted in her attempting suicide.
"Tommy was so jealous," she said of the pair's marriage, admitting that's what she "thought" love should be like. Anderson went on to claim that Lee repeatedly had issues with her storylines on Baywatch, turning up on set and trashing her trailer. On another occasion, Anderson said Lee rammed his car into the makeup trailer before going missing. After that, the actor said she tried to take her own life. "I wanted it to be over a few times."
Anderson eventually divorced Lee in 1998, although they briefly reconciled in 2008, and has since focussed on improving her mental health. Looking back on the journey, she told The Guardian: "Holy cow. How did I get through all that? How did I make those choices?"
But, she continued, "I also have empathy for myself. I see that I just didn’t have the tools."
